Dr Shiu completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from St George’s University in Grenada, WI in 2002. He started his career as a surgical resident in New York until he decided to move to the UK a few years later. He was awarded the MRCGP(UK) together with FRACGP (Australia) in 2009 and moved to Australia in 2010.
Currently, Dr Shiu is the Managing Director at Banksia Medical Centre in Geelong, VIC.
Dr Shiu has vast experience in teaching RACGP trainees for their exam preparations, as well as final year medical students. He has been an accredited examiner for FRACGP for 3 years.
He is a Medical Educator and supervisor for MCCC which is a regional training provider for the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program. He sits on the selection committee as well as the accreditation panel for the program.
In addition, he is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Deakin University, lecturing for the final year medical students; preparing them to face the day to day challenge of becoming a caring and responsible doctor.
