Name Dr Kate Roberts BSc (Med Sci.), MBChB, MRCPsych, FRANZCP, Cert. Forensic
Dr Roberts completed a pre-clinical BSc at St Andrews University in Scotland before gaining Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Manchester in 1999. After basic training in Psychiatry in the UK, and becoming a member of the RCPsych, she came to Australia and became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrist (FRANZCP). She completed advanced psychiatric training in Forensic Psychiatry with Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health (VIFMH – Forensicare) in Melbourne and has been a consultant since 2008 working in inpatient, community and prison settings.
She has recently been appointed as the Director of Clinical Services – Prison and is also the Director of Basic Training at her public appointment with VIFMH. She additionally holds the title of Adjunct Teaching Fellow with Swinburne University.
She has written textbook on Psychiatry exam preparation, “Key Topics in Psychiatry”, Elsevier publication, 2007.
